Some folksy-sounding lyrics - Trust Myself

State Street, Madison, WI

I don't usually listen to folk. But there is a modern, soothing, ambient, type of folk that I find really honest and soulful. Think Lena Fayre, "Games." Sometimes it's a refreshing way to express heartbreak. Still love my rock and metal though ;D

Trust Myself

I didn’t need another lesson how to trust no one
I didn’t want to see the tracks again where they’ve all run
Away
Away
I’ve heard all of the reasons so there’s no need to explain
Even though you leave me lonely I am friends with that old pain
Hey
Hey-ay
You knew these things about me yet you knocked upon my door
You whispered that you loved me then you left me on the floor
Oh-ooh
Oh, you told me you were different
And you told me you were kind
You told me that I needed someone
Who could sympathize
You rocked me back to sleep
And then you crept into my mind
Then I saw you in the nightmare
That I’ve had a thousand times
For what are dreams but all our tales
Told from another side
I’ll find the map amidst my scars
And know how to survive

Yeah I think it's time to trust myself

To be continued...
